BASIC STUDY PROGRAM OF VOCATIONAL STUDY FOR
SPORTS COACHES
Description
The belief that contemporarily educated coaches and trainers are needed for the development of sport and recreation in our country, as well as experts for professional pedagogic work with sportspeople of all ages and competition levels, or recreational and special populations of all ages, was the motivational idea for founding the college, which would in turn make a significant contribution to satisfying this need. Coaches and trainers in sports and fitness clubs, mostly originate from the ranks of former athletes or amateurs. There are not many who have had the opportunity to obtain even minimal professional training and preparations for training work. This does not mean a lack of interest for professional training, but an inadequately developed infrastructure which could offer quality professional education, and modern education which is in accordance with work demands. This was also demonstrated by the great interest for this college on the part of athletes, and especially younger coaches who have already worked in clubs. Students with specific club experience prevailed in the first college generation, in order for the number of students enrolling in studies directly after finishing high school or after their sports careers had ended to increase with time.
